Comments we hear the most from scouts and leaders:
- Awesome
- We did not know
- This place is sick
“In over 20 years as a scout leader in multiple councils and a former BAC scout, by far the best, well-rounded, challenging & supervised program I’ve come across. Broad Creek has raised the bar for other councils to follow…We’ll be back”

“Lost Pines was what Summer Camp should be kayaking, canoeing, scuba, overall fun. It gave a chance for older guys to have a reason to be here and to meet friends in other troops. Awesome is not enough a word for it.”

“Awesome I want to do it again”

Lost Pines is a Word Class extreme high adventure program for older scouts and crews. It is made up of several week-long treks that will entice and challenge the older scout. There are several one of a kind activities that you will not find at any other scout camp.
Imagine shooting down a man-made water slide in a kayak into the crystal clear water of a rock quarry. Kayaking up the Susquehanna River, exploring over a hundred islands while paddling under the stars. Rafting through rapids and boulders down river at Rock State Park. Dive in full scuba 80 feet down attaching large balloons to a sunken air plane raising it to the top, or riding a zip line dumping you right into the water of our rock quarry water park.
What sets us apart at Lost Pines from other high adventure programs are one of a kind treks you only find at Broad Creek. Lost Pines is either an all day or half day program depending on the trek with night activities. This formula is unique to Lost Pines, this allows scouts to take COPE or merit badges for half the day, they also will eat and sleep with their own troop. The older scout gets the best of both worlds, earning merit badges and spending time with their troop while making new friends and competing in extreme activities.
What makes Broad Creek’s High Adventure Camp unique to other scout camps:
- 17 acre 90 foot deep rock quarry, our water is treated with a Disney chemical making the water a clear tropical Caribbean blue
- A man-made kayak water slide
- PDIC Open Water Scuba Certification to 130 feet
- Water Theme Park with water slide, rodeo sinking pier, zip lines into water, log roll, canoe jousting, out-door movie theater on a 30 foot screen, and more
- A 18 hole PGA golf course with club house and carts
- Snorkel camp at the quarry with ship wrecks and schools of fish
- Florida tropical camp setting with white beach, real palm trees, and tropical breezes
- Yachts, train locomotive with box cars, airplane, and a school bus to explore at the bottom of our rock quarry
- Rafting
- Second largest non military zip line east of the Mississippi
- (new) shuttle vans to Broad Creek’s Susquehanna Waterfront and the quarry
New for 2010:
- Trek 5 Sports Beach Camp (afternoons)
- Snow Board Water Slide
- Blob
- 1st in the nation to offer scuba merit badge
- New night mission for Navy Seals at a deserted prison camp with real prison cells and a dirty bomb to disarm.

If your troop is going somewhere else this summer you can still take Lost Pines. Take a second week of fun and excitement at our scout camp and stay in our provisional camp site.
Lost Pines is the destination program for older scouts in the region. Our camp was chosen as the top 5 cool camps in the nation by Scouting Magazine for 2010. With scouts from South Carolina and Virgina to northern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and all over Maryland. This along with Broad Creeks total scout experience with updated facilities, 55 merit badges, all new Broad Creek Water Front on the Susquehanna River, great food, an excellent COPE program, and the most enthusiastic staff and program around.

To find clear water this blue you would have to go down to Florida or… The quarry at Guppy’s Gulch. A 17 acre lake and 80 feet deep, only at Broad Creek Scout Reservation.
Lost Pines staff will come to your troop meeting to show whats going on at camp and Lost Pines with an exciting slide show. Their is no cost and what a great way to add excitement to any troop meeting. Weather your looking to come to Broad Creek this year or next or you want the scouts to see what Broad Creek has to offer in making their decision. To set up a time call 443 604 3223 and ask for Mike.
Send us an email on what you think about the site and programs along with any ideas you have. Who knows we may be highlighting your idea.

This is what BSA summer camp should be, an exciting program of adventure that most boys would not normally be exposed to. Looking forward to Lost Pines, 2009…….
