  Welcome to Guppy Gulch, a world-class high adventure camp catering to boy scouts, and girl scouts. Our water park was featured in Scouting Magazine’s Cool Camps. We are located in the rolling hills and farms of Southern Pennsylvania, and at the border of Harford County, Maryland.  This unique tropical setting of an old rock quarry is transformed to a one of a kind water-park.

This summer we are offering eight week-long scout overnight sessions. Days at the Gulch include time in our high adventure water park, older scout merit badges, fun adventures both in the water and on land and exciting evening activities. Spend the night with us in our tent camping area or in one of our cabins and a great meal program.

 The word  we hear the most from previous visitors is PARADISE.  It’s what keeps the same troops coming back year after year. We are open to camps, scouts, and crews. Whether you are looking to camp with us for a week or come as a day camper from another camp, we have it all for you. Come either as a troop, older boys patrol, or by yourself as a provisional.

 

Our water park setting is a tropical paradise with a white sandy beach, real palm trees, clear Caribbean blue waters, with cool afternoon breezes and today’s hottest music in the background.

We have attracted scouts from as far as Michigan from the north, South Carolina from the south, Kansas to the west, and international scouts from Japan and Denmark. All leave with plans to return as soon as they can. Some have even come back to join our summer staff.

Guppy is the number one scuba designation spot in the mid Atlantic. Our scuba camp offers both the merit badge and PDIC Certification to a 130 feet. This popular program has its own under water Water-Park with many sunken yachts and large sail boats, two train engines, a school bus, and a plane 80 feet under water.  All this in a treated clear blue quarry using the same chemical that the Disney theme parks use.

Florida Sea Base: Certify with us for half the cost and enjoy 5 days of Florida reef instead of four days in their pool certifying.

Coming from another local scout camp this summer. We already have boys coming week of June 21 to July 1. Please call us for this and other weeks. We are the top rated program in the mid Atlantic with  the highest level of certification to a 130 feet.

Aviation can either be taken as a merit badge or as an activity. Campers after take off, will take over the flight of the plane  flying over Guppy, raising and lowering and steering the plane left and right. We offer other scout merit badges in Chess, Oceangraphy,  Life Saving, Motor Boating, Geology, Scuba, and White Water on the Susquehanna River.

Guppy has a fleet on new outboard motor boats for both Motor Boating Merit Badge, and recreational boating. We will also be the first in the state to over a state DNR approved motor boating license, were scouts can use the license back in their own states to drive motor boats and jet skis at home.

   

We have several programs with kayaking, including white water merit badge and white water activities. Before heading off to the Susquehanna for white water, scouts will practice on our Class 3 kayak water slide (only one in the US)  featured in Scouting Magazine, working on pencil dives and barrow roles.

Guppy offers BSA Snorkeling and tours in snorkeling,exploring under water rock formations and schools of bass, trout, and blue gills. We also have an advanced snorkeling were campers descend and jump off boulders, use zip lines, and water slides in full gear along with night missions.

We had an AWESOME visit with you last year, so we booked at Guppy Gulch. We’ve never seen anything like this High Adventure program within 100 miles of our troop.
